OK HC is on the way back. Haven't seen them play, but they weren't hit by graduation as badly as other teams. They should finish strong. What's up with Hillsborough? MM is a capable pitcher, KY an outstanding hitter. They just can't put together enough to win against the better SC teams. One and done in the county? Versus Mt St. Mary's that's a very good possibility. Then the rest of their schedule is pretty strong. Might not even make states = OUCH
Looks like your estimation of Pete Fick's demise was premature, my friend.
Hunterdon Central's rollercoaster season was discussed in some detail on the latest podcast, check that out. Apparently I wrote the Red Devils' obituary too soon.
As for Hillsborough, which we also touched on in the podcast, yeah, I'm surprised by the Raiders' season as well. Saturday's meeting with Mount St. Mary is a must-win for Hillsborough and, it's safe to say, will be a harbinger for the rest of its season.
Both Central and Hillsborough need to get their houses in order, because, right now, neither team is a shoo-in for a state tournament berth.
